On Tuesday night the Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets traveled to Rosman to take on Cherokee in the conference tournament semifinal. Hayesville was coming off an upset of Cherokee the previous week. Cherokee came out firing on all cylinders to ensure Hayesville would not beat them again. That combined with turnover and rebound  issues led to Cherokee winning in commanding fashion 76-39.

The first quarter the Lady Yellow Jackets couldn’t get any shots to fall and did their best to limit Cherokee. Yet the quarter ended with Cherokee holding a 16 to 7 point lead. The second quarter is where the game got out of hand with Cherokee scoring 31 second quarter points. The Lady Yellow Jackets struggled with turnovers and rebounding in the second quarter which led to multiple fastbreak opportunities for the Lady Braves. The game went to half time with Cherokee holding a 47 to 12 lead.

In the second half give the Lady Jackets credit they fought hard even with the game out of hand. With starters still in for both teams Hayesville finally found some offense and outscored Cherokee in the third quarter. While outscoring them 17-16 in the quarter entering the fourth it was still a 63-29 lead for Cherokee.
