Full 1A Western Regional Championship Results: Robbinsville Takes Home Title, SMC Sends 19 To State

Bakersville, NC- Mitchell High School was the home of the 1A Western Regional individual Wrestling Championships over the weekend, and the entire Smoky Mountain Conference represented well at the meet as Robbinsville, Swain, Hayesville, and Murphy all had wrestlers qualify for the State Championship meet in Greensboro. Robbinsville brought their A game and took the 1A Western Regional Crown back to Graham County, scoring 224.5 team points, 11.5 better than the second-place Avery County Vikings. Swain County also performed well, taking home a 3rd place finish as a team with 154.5 total points.

Robbinsville’s Kage Williams was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament, as he moved to 54-0 on the season.
