HAYESVILLE, N.C. – On October 6, 2021, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance at Peace of Mind Campground.
Once on the scene, they attempted to arrest Stephen Shiebler, who resisted and fled on foot.
Due to evidence found at the scene, a search warrant was executed at the residence. Deputies uncovered 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine, 9 grams of fentanyl, four firearms, and $4,000 in cash.
Jeffrey Allen Medley and Misty Ann Ledford were both arrested at the scene and charged with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, traffick in methamphetamine and maintain a place for controlled substance. They were given a bond of $260,000 and a court date of October 11, 2021.
Stephen Andrew Shiebler has warrants for his arrest for maintain a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, traffick in methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, possess methamphetamine, and four counts of possession of firearm by felon.
The last known area of Shiebler was along 175 near the Georgia line. He’s approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds.
