HAYESVILLE, NC – Clay County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying two individuals wanted for questioning in a string of vehicle break-ins.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, two suspects were captured on a surveillance camera nearby one of the vehicles. The vandalism to others’ property occurred along Fires Creek Road and Julia Buckner Road between 3 and 4 a.m. If anybody saw any suspicious persons or vehicles in that area during that time, please contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at (828) 389-6354.
The sheriff’s office doesn’t believe this is the first time these individuals performed this type of vandalism from their behavior in the footage. It’s likely they know each other well and hang out in their free time.
If anyone recognizes these two individuals from the photos, please call the Sheriff’s Office or email at crimetips@claycountyso.com. The tipster can remain completely anonymous.

Clay County Sheriff’s Office asks for everyone to “look closely at the body stature and mannerisms” of the suspects.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspects “appear to be white or light skin males in their late teens or early twenties. One is fat, the other one thin.”
FYN will update the story as more information becomes available.
