Search warrant leads to Hayesville drug arrests

HAYESVILLE, NC – During the early morning hours of Dec. 4, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, along with Jackson and Macon County SWAT teams, executed a search warrant at a residence on Dietz Cable Road. Numerous controlled substances, US currency, and several firearms were seized during the search of the residence located at 692 Dietz Cable Road, Hayesville, NC.

During the execution of the search warrant, the following subjects were arrested, transported to the Clay County Detention Center, and charged with the following crimes:

Steven Grant Papendick: Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was given a $20,000 bond and a court date of December 9, 2019.

Ryan Neal Jones: Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was given a $20,000 bond and a court date of December 9, 2019.

Amy Jean Dockery: Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance and Possession of Methamphetamine and 4 counts of Possession of Firearm by Felon. She was given a $75,000 bond and a court date of December 9, 2019.

This search warrant came as a result of a lengthy investigation by members of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office for sell and delivery of various controlled substances in Clay County. Additional charges are pending later in the week.
