Hayesville teen charged in murder of Jordan Garcia
News June 21, 2019HAYESVILLE, NC – Clay County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 17-year-old Caleb Anthony Ellis today in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Jordan Ramon Garcia.
Garcia, who was reported missing Tuesday, May 28, was discovered murdered three days later in Clay County, and was identified through dental records at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC.. Garcia’s remains were tranported to North Carolina State University for forensic examination, Clay County Sheriff’s Office told FetchYourNews (FYN). Garcia was residing in Hiawassee, GA, at the time of his disappearance.

Caleb Ellis is currently being held in the Clay County Detention Center with no bond. Ellis has been charged with: Murder, Felony Obstruction, Felony Concealment of a Human Death, and Communicating Threats.

Towns County deputies serving arrest warrant for Caleb Ellis
Towns County Sheriff’s Office deputies and invesigators arrived at a residence off Bell Street in Hiawassee shortly before 6 pm, Saturday, June 2, to serve a Clay County, NC warrant for Ellis’ arrest. FYN previously reported that Ellis was taken into custody by authorities without incident on an out-of-state misdemeanor charge. Ellis was transported to Towns County Detention Center for processing, and was held without bond.

Shirley Sherlin
Additional charges were filed today against Shirley Lance Sherlin. Sherlin was charged with one count of Felony Obstruction and was released on an unsecured bond.
