Madge Kitchens Moss

Madge Kitchens Moss, 94, of Hayesville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at her residence. She was a member of Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church. Madge enjoyed gardening and canning. She loved cooking for everybody and treating them with her fried apple pies.

She was the daughter of the late Wiley and Lena Ashe Kitchens and wife of the late Ledger Z. Moss, who died February 8, 1995. She was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Kitchens.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Patterson of Hayesville; two sons, Gene Moss and wife, Carolyn Eller of Young Harris, Georgia, and Clark Moss and wife, Beth of Hayesville; and five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Kyle Cody and Israel Rogers officiating. The interment will be in Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ketron Moss officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Moss, Rodney and Greg Penland, Gene Youngblood, Josh Woodard, and David Moses. Honorary pallbearers will be David Stillwell, Anthony Garrett, Jack Moss, Gene Toole, Donald Cheeks, and Craig Hooper.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Tuesday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
