**Hayesville Takes Top Spot in Smoky Mountain Conference Baseball Standings**
*April 13, 2025 — Smoky Mountain Conference Baseball Update*
As the regular season continues to unfold, the Hayesville Yellow Jackets have emerged as the team to beat in the Smoky Mountain Conference (SMC). With an undefeated 7-0 record in conference play and an 8-6 overall mark, Hayesville now sits at the top of the standings after beating Swain in back-to-back games earlier this year.
Swain remains a formidable contender, sitting in second place with a 7-2 conference record and matching Hayesville’s overall record of 8-6. The two teams appear to have seperated themselves from the rest of the pack.
Murphy rounds out the top three, boasting a solid 4-2 SMC record, though their overall performance (4-8) reflects some non-conference struggles. Robbinsville and Andrews continue to battle in the middle of the pack with 3-4 and 2-6 conference records respectively.
Hiwassee Dam, tied with Andrews in conference play at 2-6 but with a slightly better overall record (3-9-1), sits just ahead of Cherokee, who rounds out the standings at 1-6 in the SMC and 2-7 overall.
With a few crucial games remaining, the race for playoff positioning is heating up. Hayesville and Swain are locked in a tight race for the top, while the rest of the conference looks to build momentum heading into the postseason.
