Jackets Down Andrews In Defensive Battle, Prep For Playoffs vs CTK

Clay County, NC- It was senior night in The Hive for the Yellow Jackets as the Andrews Wildcats came to town in the final game of the regular season.
The two Smoky Mountain Conference foes went toe-to-toe for all 4 quarters, but the Jackets would not be denied on Senior night as they came away with a 14-6 victory over the Cats.
Tate Roberts found Seth Leek in the endzone for a quick 6 points in the first quarter for what would be the lone offensive TD for the Yellow Jackets on Friday night.
Tre Graves intercepted a Wildcat pass in the second quarter and took it back 42 yards to the house for what would end up being the game-winning touchdown for Hayesville.
Graves led the Jackets in offense taking the bulk of the carries on the ground, posting a final line of 61 rushing yards on 17 carries. Roberts was able to have some succes through the air, finding 5 different receivers for 51 yards and a score.
Taylor McClure fired up the Jacket Defense and was in the backfield all night, finishing with 11 total tackles and 3 tackles for loss.
The Jackets drew the #14 seed NCHSAA 1A Playoffs, and will host Christ The King this Friday night at The Hive.
Christ The King is a familiar opponent for the Jackets, as they defeated the Crusaders 14-13 on the road in the first round of last year’s playoffs.
