Jean O’Day, age 90, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 in a Murphy hospital. She was a native of Hamilton County, Tennessee, but had lived in Newburgh, Indiana and Volusta County, Florida before moving to Murphy in 1993.  Jean was a retired office supervisor in the real estate business.   She was a member of the Eastern Star Martha Chapter 246. She was a member of Murphy First Baptist Church and was also a choir member.

She was the daughter of the late John & Grace Dunville Callis.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Callis.

Surviving are her husband, Tom O’Day of Murphy; a daughter, Anna France of Deltona, Florida; a step daughter, Colleen Murphy of Orlando, Florida; a son Brent Dougherty and wife, Deborah of Apopka, Florida; four step sons, Michael O’Day and Dennis O’Day, both of Mt. Dora Florida, Shawn O’Day of Eustice, Florida and Thomas O’Day of Orlando, Florida; a sister Anne Whitfield of Newburgh, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Meghan Dougherty, Lauren and Austen France.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Jean O’Day to Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC  20090-6011.
